Supermarket Chain
Get Smart Bills was invited to review the billing of a chain of independent supermarkets. In total they have over 3,500 locations, and a turnover in excess of £1bn. Working initially with their Northern Region, Get Smart completed a full analysis of their current usage and bills.
Get Smart invited the major power companies to tender for the Gas and Electricity for the regional supermarkets, and put forward a proposal to the customer.
After agreeing the best tariff and contract profile the company has saved nearly 20% on it’s annual fuel bills.
Engineering Company
With just a single location and annual bills that were just about affordable this Leeds based engineering company was initially sceptical about what Get Smart could offer.
With a relatively simple energy requirement, the tendering process was quick and easy, and having negotiated with the power companies, Get Smart saved them nearly one third of their annual spend on fuel. A saving running to tens of thousands of pounds was achieved, just before the recent economic downturn which the business owners freely admit has helped preserve their profitability during a difficult time.
Managed office complex
This managed workspace in the Sheffield area was owned and operated by the original developer. Office units are rented on short to medium term leases to startup businesses.
The rentals include all power bills and the owners had initially negotiated a deal with one of Get Smart’s competitors. However due to a lack of active management, the contract had long since expired and Get Smart identified this – the business owners had simply not realised this could happen and simply put the increased energy costs down to the recently advertised increase in gas and electricity.
With help from Get Smart Bills the owners were able to put their energy requirements to tender. All the leading power companies responded with offers that were significantly below the prices they were currently paying. In some cases as much as 35% lower, and after selecting the right tariff profile a deal was done which returned huge savings for the business.
